KC Divas! Charlotte Fletcher, Eboni Fondren, J Love, and Amber Underwood

 

Charlotte Fletcher

Charlotte Fletcher was educated by Kansas City Missouri public schools and attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO where she studied music education. Born and raised in the Baptist church, she began singing at an early age in the St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church youth choir. Today she sings solo as well as with her band "Soigne." Each day she attempts to live her career through these words: "If I can help somebody as I travel along. If I can cheer somebody with a word or song. If I can help somebody from doing wrong. Then my living will not be in vain."

 

Eboni Fondren

For the last 15 years dynamic vocalist and entertainer Eboni Fondren brings passion and excitement whenever she takes the stage. Her precise readings of jazz standards, which she seasons with a dash of R&B, fill a room with energy and delight. With a smooth and sultry finish, audiences will be enchanted by her lyrical interpretation and ability to draw an audience in leaving them wanting more.

 

J Love

J Love has become one of leading soul vocalists in the Kansas City area.  Her voice could only be described as earthy, and confident. Not only does J Love front her own band called “The J.Love Band” but has also had success as a solo performer throughout the Kansas City area as well as performing at concerts, and festivals throughout the country.
 

Amber Underwood

Jazz and classical flutist, educator, band director, bandleader and vocalist Amber Underwood is a native of Kansas City and has been entertaining and performing music since the tender age of 8. Beginning her musical journey on the piano and soon after began playing classical flute.

While in college, Amber discovered Jazz and became intrigued with the art form inspired by musical influences of Bobbi Humphrey, Hubert Laws, Frank Wess, Herbie Mann and Nestor Torres and found a love for the art form. At age 20, Amber graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance and by 23 she completed a Masters of Arts in Arts Administration and Music Business from the University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory and continued her education with a second Master’s degree in Education and Teaching Music from Pittsburgh State University.
