Film Screening: Up From the Bottoms (2009)

This free film screening at the National Archives at Kansas City is part of the 2018-2019 Film Series with American Jazz Museum, Greater KC Black History Study Group, and the National Archives at Kansas City.

Up From the Bottoms: The Search for the American Dream is a documentary that explores the massive migration of African Americans from the old south to the prosperous north during the first half of the 20th century. Narrated by Cicely Tyson with music by Stevie Wonder and Miles Davis.
