Dennis Jerome Winslett grew up in Olathe, Kansas and began studying saxophone at age 9. He honed his music skills at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and then left to perform with jazz artists including John Pizzarelli Malachi Thompson’s Africa Brass, Bob Brookmeyer, the 911 Mambo Orchestra and Orbert Davis.
His passion for music extends to education. While living in Chicago he served as Director of Recruitment and Outreach for The Sherwood Conservatory of Music and Program Director at The National Jazz Museum.
Nearing 40, Winslett lives with MS and is the father of three sons. His art aims to contribute to human development, education, creativity and social reinvigoration.
